Save Our Local BBC Radio Stations
Need My Local Radio is a song by Beldon Haigh protesting the planned cuts to jobs, output, services and programmes across 39 BBC Local Radio stations.
We are urging the BBC to reconsider this decision which will:
1. Take local radio services away from everyone, especially hitting blind and digitally disadvantaged.
2. Take away the jobs of much-loved local presenters, seen as the heart of local communities.
3. Cut vital opportunities for showcasing and developing local talent on BBC Local Radio.
4. Slash the level of reporting on local politics, issues, sports and local events.
5. Centralise and nationalise shared programming so it's not really “local” anymore. PROTEST THESE UNNECESSARY CUTS BY DOWNLOADING 'NEED MY LOCAL RADIO' FROM EITHER OF THE TWO SOURCES BELOW:
All profits from downloads of the song will be donated to the National Federation of the Blind in the UK - 'The Voice Of Blind People'.
